Suu Kyi's party, which technically won in 1990, is going to give it another shot.

Aung San Suu Kyi’s National League for Democracy, Myanmar’s main opposition party, has decided to register again as a political party to run for future elections. The party boycotted last year's election because a ban on incarcerated members would have meant Suu Kyi could not run. Now, after Myanmar’s new civilian government has lifted certain restrictions and shown some compromise regarding the Nobel laureate, the party, and perhaps Suu Kyi, will run again. The White House has announced that Clinton will make a historic visit to Myanmar next month, for the first time in over 50 years.
