Co-Founder Criticizes Occupy Canada

Then blames the media for convincing the government to shut it down.

One of the “founders” of the Canadian Occupy movement is, upon reflection, somewhat disappointed with the movement's progression. Kalle Lasn says the protest suffered from mainstream media distorting their message by emphasizing how inconvenient it was for locals (up next: Occupy Mainstream Media?). Lasn also says the Canadian movement, which was largely shut down in Toronto, Edmonton, Montreal and Vancouver last week, was also relatively lackluster in comparison with its American counterpart. On the bright side, leaders say the Canadian branch did not get violent, and many protestors felt involved in the political process for the first time. Now no longer in charge of organizing tent libraries and preparing hundreds of sandwiches for Occupiers, those involved in the movement have more time to refocus their efforts.
