A new survey says Air Canada serves the most nutritious food. When it's serving food. And running.
An assistant professor at New York’s CUNY School of Public Health has ranked North American airlines by the nutritional value of their food. Air Canada came out on top after airline meals were ranked based on selection, calories, improvement over time, innovation and nutritional transparency. The researcher said the airline served food that was relatively low in calories and contained fresh ingredients. The other airlines ranked, from best to worst, Virgin America, United Airlines and Continental Airlines, US Airways, JetBlue Airways, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines, and Spirit Airlines. Overall, he found that menus were marginally healthier and lower in calories this year, but were still largely unhealthy.
