Old names – Atwood, Ondaatje – and new – deWitt, Edugyan – figured heavily this year. What was your favourite book from 2011?

2011 was a great year for Canadian fiction, with Patrick deWitt and Esi Edugyan garnering international acclaim for their latest novels. Internationally, Haruki Murakami and George R.R. Martin released long-awaited novels that went on to be bestsellers. What was your favourite book from 2011?
