This Christmas, the British singer is rolling in the dough.

British music sensation Adele is more than just a Grammy-winning chart topper: she’s also a record-setter. The 23-year-old singer-songwriter sold more than five and a half million copies of her album “21” this year in the U.S. alone, making it the top seller in seven years. No one has come close to the five million mark since Usher’s "Confessions" sold 7.9 million in 2004. In comparison, Canadian runner-up Michael Bublé's "Christmas" sold 2.4 million and Lady Gaga’s "Born this Way" sold just over two million. Worldwide, she's inching in on 15 million. This year also marks the first time overall music sales are up since 2004, up over three per cent from 2010. Guess music fans had been waiting a long time for someone like her.
