The annual Global Happiness Index Ranked Canada 33rd out of 58 countries.

How happy are Canadians? About as happy as the Japanese this year, by self-report. In the Global Barometer of Happiness, an annual study that asks respondents across the world whether they feel happy, 60 per cent of Canadians said yes, 13 per cent said they were unhappy, and 26 per cent were uncertain. Within Canada, Manitoba and Saskatchewan were the happiest provinces while Alberta fared the worst. Globally, the happiest people in the world were in Fiji, with the most miserable of all in Romania. On average, those under 30 and above 65 reported being happier than the middle-aged, and Catholics and Protestants were happier than Jews, Hindus, Muslims, Orthodox Christians, and people without religious beliefs.
