Ex-Cons to Compete for Top Prizes

A new reality television show is coming to Canada.

What do you get when you combine Kevin O’Leary, a group of ex-convicts, and a pile of money? Quality television. A new Canadian reality series called “Redemption Inc.” is premiering this week on the CBC, where former convicts will compete for a second chance at success and a $100,000 prize. The offenders are believed to be primarily drug dealers and thieves who have served time in jail and are looking for a fresh start. The “Dragon’s Den” host reportedly agreed to do the show because he feels there is a lack of opportunities for ex-convicts to get second chances in society, and because former criminals share many of the same skills as business people.
