The star of "Hoodrats 2: Hoodrat Warriors" says she would have made it big but for the illegal publication of her real name and age.
40-year-old actress Junie Hoang is suing IMDB and its owner, Amazon, for revealing that very information: her name and age. The actress claims that when IMDB listed her “real Asian name,” Huang Hoang, (which the court forced her to reveal last week), she was placed at a “cultural disadvantage” in seeking acting jobs. She is also suing them for revealing her age, in what she feels is worth $75,000 in lost revenue and a million in punitive damages. The actress, best known for appearing in such classics as “Gingerdead Man 3: Saturday Night Cleaver” and an episode of “I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant,” says Amazon breached privacy and consumer protection laws thereby preventing her from getting work. In a motion to dismiss the case, Amazon said the actress was perpetrating fraud by concealing her age and that her lawsuit was selfish, frivolous and “contrary to the public interest.”
