Romney continues his predictable march towards the Republican presidential nomination.
Based on exit polls and early results Mitt Romney is projected to win the New Hampshire primary. Surprised? Don't be! More his "home field" than Iowa was (he owns a house in the state and spent four years as the governor of neighbouring Massachusetts), few expected Romney to lose as the lack of a challenger to President Barack Obama on the Democratic side was expected to lead to more moderate independent or "undeclared" voters weighing in on the race in New Hampshire. At the time of posting, Representative Ron Paul was well ahead of former senators Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, polling in second place to the predicted frontrunner of the race, Romney. The failure of fellow "moderate" running mate, Jon Huntsman, to break through in New Hampshire could signal the end of the line for the former U.S. ambassador to China, once thought of as the greatest threat to a second-term presidency for Obama. Now, it's on to South Carolina...
