U.S. Wants Drone Back, Iran Offers Toy

We hear the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis was actually solved by sending over a G.I. Joes and the classic board game Sorry!

Last month, Iran somehow ended up in possession of a state-of-the-art U.S. military aerial drone. Iran says they hacked the RQ-170 Sentinel drone, the U.S. says the unmanned vehicle malfunctioned and crashed near the Afghanistan-Iran border. Regardless, the U.S. wants it back, but the Islamic Republic isn't just about to hand over a cherished piece of American military hardware for nothin'. As such, Iranian officials have now responded to American requests by saying they are sending a toy version of the same drone back to the U.S. instead. Iranian state television reports that the toy drone is about an eighteenth the size of the actual drone, and sells for a whopping $4 in toy stores. We've got to say – this is a pretty hilarious way to deal with an international controversy between two life-long enemies. Maybe Iran can respond to international requests to halt its nuclear program by distributing free copies of Fallout 3 to the International Atomic Energy Agency.
