Behold, the most beautiful video you'll see all week.
The above video is taken from the International Space Station as it passed over numerous lightning storms across Africa on Dec. 29. According to the description, it starts off over Niger in west-central Africa and moves southeast toward Madagascar and the Indian Ocean. It also happens to capture a glimpse of the Milky Way, which the description says is "a hazy band of white light at the beginning of the video." Sure! Either way, it's a humbling, beautiful video. As Gizmodo points out, the ISS has a habit of releasing astoundingly striking videos periodically, such as this one and this one. Thanks once again, NASA.
