Poll of the Day: Money talks.
The Florida GOP primary will be held tomorrow, and polls suggest that Willard "Mitt" Romney is set for another victory in the sunshine state. Two polls published on Sunday show that Romney has a double-digit lead over his closest challenger, Newt Gingrich. An NBC/Marist poll has Romney leading Gingrich by 15 percentage points (42 per cent to 27 per cent), while a Miami Herald/Mason Dixon poll has Romney at 42 per cent and Gingrich at 31 per cent. Rounding out the top four are Rick Santorum and Ron Paul, who are basically still in this race for comedic race, we guess? Anyhow, despite Gingrich's convincing win over Romney in South Carolina, it seems as if the millions of dollars the Romney camp has poured into ads attacking Gingrich in Florida appear to have had their desired effect. This ad, "History Lesson," is particularly effective, even if NBC cried foul over Romney using their material:
Gingrich has said that even if he loses in Florida he won't bow out of the race, meaning we can expect another month's worth of hilarious dirt-mongering from both sides (tax returns! open marriages!) until Super Tuesday on March 6.
