See the Dark Side of the Moon

... without paying $400 to see Roger Waters play music he wrote 30 years ago. Like, the REAL moon.
NASA has released the first-ever video footage of the dark side of the moon (and no, not the Pink Floyd album, but the actual dark side of the moon). The video, filmed on Jan. 19, was taken as NASA's Ebb probe flew from the moon's north pole to the south. The far side of our little orbiting buddy never faces us, as the moon rotates so slowly that it only makes one full rotation per 27 days – the same time it takes for the moon to orbit Earth. It's also a lot rockier and generally more menacing than the side that we get to see each night, but NASA's GRAIL mission, of which Ebb and its partner probe, Flow, are a part, intends to discover more information about the moon and its creation.
