Paul Saurette
Associate Professor of Political Studies, University of Ottawa.
Contributor Biography
Paul Saurette teaches political thought in the School of Political Studies, University of Ottawa, having previously attained degrees from the University of Manitoba, York University, the London School of Economics, and Johns Hopkins University. He is the author of a book on the role of common sense and humiliation in political theory and politics as well as a variety of articles on political thought and international relations
He has also worked in a variety of other contexts beyond the warm confines of the ivory tower, including stints as a trumpet playing Naval reservist; a consultant to everything from Fortune 50 companies to startups as an associate at McKinsey & Co. and a partner at several other small consulting firms; and as a researcher and advisor to government agencies. Like most self-deluding knowledge workers who harbour the fantasy that they have an unbearably glorious but as-of-yet uncovered creative side, however, Paul’s ultimate goal is to play in a band that is at least slightly more musically skilled and significantly less interviewly challenged than Billy Bob Thorton and the Boxmasters.
