Contributor Biography

Allison McNeely is a writer and editor living in Calgary. By day, she is the Web Editor for Wine Access magazine and in her spare time, a passionate blogger on women’s issues, politics and pop culture.

A graduate of McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science, Allison was Editor-in-Chief of the McGill Journal of Political Studies, a senior member of the International Relations Students' Association of McGill and intensely involved with Model United Nations. She represented McGill at conferences in the US and Europe and was a key organizer of McGill’s annual high school conference for more than 1000 participants.

Allison spent a summer in Washington, DC working with FairVote, a voting reform and advocacy group. She co-wrote a report on election administration practices that was highlighted in a New York Times cover story and cited in the testimony of an elections expert before a subcommittee of the United States Congress.

Born and raised in Ontario, Allison has lived in Switzerland and travelled extensively throughout Europe and Canada.
