Contributor Biography
Sarah Jean Harrison is an activist, feminist, environmentalist, and artist. She completed an honours degree in women’s studies and English at the University of Guelph and a masters in environmental studies at York University in Toronto. She is currently an educator with the Toronto Regional Conservation Authority, a community arts practitioner, and a gardener. Sarah’s most recent writing has dealt with such topics as food democracy, democratic engagement through civil disobedience, Canadian politics, and celebrations of rural feminism.
Sarah’s current pursuit is a complete renovation of her home in Toronto in the attempt to make it more environmentally friendly. Her home is well marked by the flotsam and jetsam of renovations, a rainbow peace flag, and a large front lawn art-space that gives public commentary on more recent political debacles.
