Contributor Biography
Alt Altman has an MA in Political Science from York University. His studies focused largely on political theory.
Since completing his degree, Alt has worked as a Toronto-based songwriter, musician, and producer who has been making dark minimalist electronic pop music under the name Digits since 2009. His music has received critical acclaim from the Toronto Star, The Guardian, CBC, and Now Magazine, as well as influential online critics such as Said the Gramophone and Pitchfork sister-site Altered Zones. His first album "Hold It Close" peaked at #2 on Canadian campus radio's electronic charts. He is also a DJ, and runs an electronic pop concert series and blog called Silent Shout.
