Open Media

Safeguarding an open internet.
OpenMedia.ca is a non-profit organization that safeguards the open Internet. Our primary goal is informed and participatory Internet governance. OpenMedia.ca provides a united Canadian voice at CRTC hearings, facilitates citizen engagement, and works towards the creation of a solid Internet infrastructure.

OpenMedia.ca is best-known for coordinating the “Stop The Meter” campaign earlier this year. The Stop The Meter campaign is widely considered the largest online citizens’ campaign in Canadian history involving nearly half a million Canadians. OpenMedia.ca is the lead organization behind the Stop Online Spying coalition. The coalition is working to stop the government’s proposed legislation that would impose warrantless, invasive and costly online surveillance on law-abiding Canadians. More at: http://stopspying.ca.
