Conrad Amenta is a senior staff writer for Cokemachineglow, where he spends most of his time trying to convince people that ambient music is about what he thinks it's about. His essay on the emergent complexity of protest in post-9/11 music is contained in the anthology The Politics of Post-9/11 Music: Sound, Trauma, and the Music Industry in the Time of Terror, out this month on Ashgate. By day, he's a health policy planner and researcher in Ottawa.
