Contributor Biography
Kevin C. Tofel started his mobile enthusiasm in 2000 with the purchase of his first Pocket PC device. Since then, he has moved through many Windows Mobile devices and began to write and moderate on Pocket PC Tools in 2003. Moving on to a greater audience, he used his HDTV expertise to build the HDBeat website up from scratch for AOL. The site exploded in popularity and eventually became the widely recognized EngadgetHD site just as Kevin moved on.
In April of 2006, Kevin joined jkOnTheRun to share information daily on mobile technology. His passion for Ultra Mobile Personal Computers was seen by Microsoft as they recognized him with a Microsoft MVP award in Tablet PC, recognition he has held since April of 2007.
Not a stranger to the print magazine world, Kevin has been published in high-profile periodicals such as The New York Times, Smartphone & Pocket PC Magazine, PC Magazine, and PC World. He is also a co-host and the producer of the weekly Mobile Tech Roundup podcast, helping to deliver over 175 episodes to an engaged audience, and is currently a mobile editor and senior writer for GigaOM.com.
