Contributor Biography
Brigitte Alepin has led several major research projects for governments, Fortune 500 corporations, and NGOs in various fields, including environmental and post-Kyoto negotiations, oil and gas taxation, and health care. She has both public and private-sector experience that allows her to offer a rare multi-dimensional perspective on tax policies and public finances. She has also taught courses in tax and tax policies at Canadian universities.
Brigitte's written work includes two best-selling books and more than 200 articles. She is frequently quoted in the House of Commons and in major publications. She has also appeared as an expert witness before the House of Commons international and finance committees, speaks regularly at corporate events, and makes presentations at technical conferences at national and international levels. She was nominated as Quebec's Arabic Woman of the Year (business) in 2006.
Brigitte is a graduate of Harvard University. She’s a chartered accountant and holds a master's degree in both taxation and in public administration (microeconomic concentration). She lives in the Laurentians area of Quebec with her family.
