Contributor Biography
Mr. Chapman is a lawyer, Co-Founder of Cambridge Strategies Inc., a consummate political animal, media commentator, and a dedicated blogger.
While many look at politics only as lobbying and elections, he sees it as the ultimate expression of citizenship. He appreciates that every aspect of our human interactions has a political dimension. He is a “resolutionary” and is particularly adept in facilitating complex relationships within and among organizations, stakeholders, and special interests.
No stranger to conflicts, he revels in them and takes reconciliation of differences to an art form. He loves finding and designing positive, mutually beneficial outcomes from adversarial relationships. He has applied his skills in areas ranging from forest conservation to inner-city community development. He has worked on finding policy solutions for family violence, securing supports for the developmentally disabled, eliminating smoking in the workplace, and exempting volunteers from lobbyist legislation.
He is a frequent media commentator and contributor on politics and public policy issues for newspapers, radio, and television. A new media evangelist, he now learns from his under-30 mentors and is active in propagating and populating various new social media networks.
His volunteer life is that of an uber-citizen community servant. He feeds his passions for all things creative in the arts, culture, consciousness, education, and social justice concerns. In 2004, he was awarded the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal for his “…contributions to Canada, to community…and to fellow Canadians.”
