Contributor Biography
Mr. MacMullin is an analyst and writer specializing in energy and political subjects. He began writing op-eds for the Telegraph Journal of New Brunswick in 2006. The column, curiously entitled “Energy Matters," serves as a way of sharing his message of energy efficiency and sustainability with fellow citizens of New Brunswick. Of particular interest is the concept of peak oil – an idea that is only now seeping to the surface.
He has an education in industrial electronics and worked many years in the planning and design of power systems for N.B. Power and Saint John Energy. Working with numbers, and evaluating alternatives have been useful in his writings on energy. Political spin is quickly demolished as numbers are crunched. Constructive suggestions are offered to policy makers.
He is also a Co-Founder of Post Carbon Greater Moncton, an organization helping the community adapt to a decline in energy supply.
