Roger Green

Contributor Biography
Mr. Green is an environmental scientist who has been been involved with many impact and monitoring studies affecting marine and aquatic environments, including the Exxon Valdez oil spill. He has conducted environmental study design and analysis workshops in Canada, the U.S., Bermuda, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
His 1979 book Sampling Design and Statistical Methods for Environmental Biologists (John Wiley & Sons) is well known and still widely used, and he is currently working on a new book. He is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Western Ontario, and a Research Associate with both the Environment and Natural Resources Institute of the University of Alaska (Anchorage), and the graduate environmental program at Trent University.
Another interest which has especially increased over the last decade is history of religion. In 2008 he was invited to participate in an Oxford Round Tableon – "Religion and Science: Considerations of the Public Good." His keynote presentation “Science and religion as concepts: a history” has been published.
