As far back as he could remember, Andrew Shin was always caught up in video games. At the age of 6 he had his first foray into gaming when his father brought home a PONG home console. From that point on, he grew up surrounded by game consoles including the Atari 2600, Intellivision, NES, SEGA Genesis, SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Colour, SEGA Game Gear, PlayStation, N64, SEGA Dreamcast, PlayStation 2 and Xbox.
Being a devoted gamer, he currently owns and plays, when he can find the time, his PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS Lite and a PSP. Some of his favourite games include Centipede, Defender, Zaxxon, Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, Kid Icarus, Mike Tyson’s Punch Out, Castlevania, Super Mario 64, Final Fantasy VII, Splinter Cell series, Metal Gear Solid series, Gears of War, Killzone 2 and Fallout 3.
In summer of 2008 he joined NextGen Player, Canada’s Premier Gaming Blog. Not long after, he became partner on the site along with founding member Paul Hunter. As the Managing Editor and Partner at NextGen Player, he has written numerous articles, interviews, reviews and commentary pieces for the website. His focus is to continue his media work in the gaming industry and to build and grow NextGen Player.
