Chip Rolley

Mr. Rolley is Artistic Director of the 2010 Sydney Writers Festival. An editor, literary project manager, and freelance writer, he has worked in Australia, the U.S., and China and has a strong background of activism for freedom of expression, particularly through his involvement with International Pen and Sydney PEN. In 2008, he devised and co-organized the PEN Poem Relay, which saw the translation of the poem "June" by imprisoned Chinese writer Shi Tao into 100 languages. His writing has appeared in a variety of publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The Sydney Morning Herald, Age, The Australian, Griffith Review, and The Bulletin.
