Contributor Biography

Ms. Kusisto is a master's student in journalism at Columbia University in New York. She has covered everything from the effects of the 2009 Gaza conflict in Israel, to hate speech laws in Canada, and an Orthodox Jewish police force in Brooklyn, New York.

She studied law at the University of Toronto, before launching her journalism career in the Middle East, where she worked in Istanbul and then for seven months as a freelance reporter for The Jerusalem Post. She's also written for This Magazine and The Regina Leader Post.

She has a bachelor’s of English from Queen’s University, and a master’s in English from the University of Toronto. In undergrad, she traveled to such exotic places as Malaysia and Dublin, all for the sake of debating. She is the former Canadian National Debating Champion and a North American Debating Finalist.
