Contributor Biography
Ms. Braybrooke is passionate about social change and how it can be promoted through open-source technologies and online engagement. She has organized a variety of communications, graphic design and event-based initiatives for groups in Vancouver and in Las Vegas where she grew up, including Save Our Net, the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, Check Your Head, Get Your Vote On, PANOS, Oxfam, and the Red Cross.
With an AA in peace and conflict studies from Langara and a BA in political science from the University of British Columbia, she has a distinct sense of the importance of dialogue about Canadian foreign policy.
She promotes net-based civil society through her work as the Online Community Facilitator and Editor for Canada’s World. She also copy-edits and does outreach for The Tyee, B.C.'s award-winning online newspaper, and is the Founding Editor of VELOCITY, a multi-author blog which derides the stereotype that millennial youth are apathetic and showcases their ideas and activism.
