Alexander Moens
Canadian foreign policy expert, focused on American-Canadian relations.
Contributor Biography
Mr. Moens is a Professor of political science at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, a Senior Fellow at The Fraser Institute in the Centre for Canadian-American Relations, and a Fellow in the Canadian Defence and Foreign Affairs Institute in Calgary.
He is the author of The Foreign Policy of George W. Bush: Values, Strategy, Loyalty (Ashgate Publishing, 2004), and Foreign Policy Under Carter (Westview Press, 1990) as well as several edited books on NATO and European security, and Canadian-American relations. He recently co-edited a book titled Immigration Policy and the Terrorist Threat in Canada and the United States (The Fraser Institute, 2008).
He has published in Canadian, American, and European journals and newspapers. Recently, he published papers on Canada-U.S. relations, including: “Canada and Obama: Canada’s Stake in the 2008 U.S. Election,” (Fraser Institute Digital Publication, 2008), and “Measuring Parliament’s Attitude Towards Canada-U.S. Cooperation” (2009). Recently published articles on NATO include “Afghanistan and the Revolution in Canadian Foreign Policy,” (International Journal, Summer 2008).
