Dr. Savas worked as a Senior Vice President at Ipsos Reid for more than 17 years. In 2009, he set up his own research consulting practice – Savas Consulting – working with Ipsos in the higher education sector and with clients seeking research advice and expertise. He is a public affairs and market research specialist, providing services to private and public sector clients, as well as advocacy groups.

He holds a Ph.D in political science from University of British Columbia, an MA from Université Laval in Québec City, and a BA from the University of Toronto. He also studied at the Institut d'Études Politiques in Paris, where he received a Diplôme d'Études Approfondies and Essex University in England, where he studied data analysis. He recently accepted a position as an Adjunct Professor in Simon Fraser University’s Graduate public policy program, teaching quantitative methods and survey design.
