Contributor Biography
Tyson Dyck is a senior associate in the environmental, energy and climate change groups of Torys LLP’s Toronto office. There, Tyson advises clients on a range of environmental matters, with a focus on the development and financing of solar, wind, hydro, natural gas and nuclear generation projects. In his climate change practice, he advises clients on carbon finance and disclosure, emissions trading and regulation.
Tyson is also a doctoral candidate at Stanford Law School, where his research focuses on the international framework for emissions monitoring, reporting and verification, and on the interaction between renewable energy subsidies and carbon pricing mechanisms. In June 2010, Tyson completed his Master’s degree at Stanford Law School as a Fulbright Scholar and Fellow in the Stanford Program in International Legal Studies.
Tyson’s writing on climate change has been published in textbooks, academic journals and periodicals such as The Toronto Star and Point Carbon’s Carbon Market North America. His recent empirical research on the role of emissions auditing under the Clean Development Mechanism is forthcoming in the Columbia Journal of Environmental Law.
