Anthony Lacavera is Chairman of Globalive Communications Corp., an emerging leading provider of next generation telecommunications solutions globally. Lacavera recently led Globalive to become the next major wireless services provider in Canada following the country’s wireless spectrum auction. As Chairman of Globalive Holdings, WIND Mobile’s parent company, Lacavera is helping to position WIND Mobile as an innovative and consumer focused mobile company that will provide greater choice and feature rich offerings for Canadians.
Lacavera founded Globalive in 1998, and has since developed the company to become an industry leader. Globalive offers a host of innovative applications and delivers first-rate telecom services to a wide range of clients. By tailoring their innovative technology to create customer-focused solutions, Globalive has continued to thrive in the highly competitive global telecommunications market.
The Globalive group of companies includes Yak Communications, OneConnect Services, Canopco Hospitality Telecom, Globalive Carrier Services, and WIND Mobile. Globalive provides services to over 1 million Canadian households under the Yak Communications brand, over 3000 hotels and hospitals in over 30 countries with Canopco, and over 5000 small to medium businesses in North America through OneConnect Services. Globalive Carrier Services provides wholesale, billing and collection services to carriers around the world. WIND Mobile, formerly Globalive Wireless, is poised to become Canada’s next major wireless carrier and the first carrier to harness to power of its customers to build a better wireless experience.

Lacavera’s business investments range from telecom to retail including a recent investment in BLO Blow Dry Bar, a chain of blow dry salons. His philanthropic pursuits include founding the SHAMBA Foundation, a first of its kind ‘charity for charities’ and he is a founding contributor to the Art Gallery of Ontario’s Galleria Italia, a remarkable glass and timber walkway at the heart of the Frank Gehry redesigned AGO. Lacavera is also a patron of the theatre; following the success of his first production, a New York City revival of Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hat Tin Roof, the show is now on tour and can be seen in London, England.
In 2006, Lacavera was named one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40, recognized for outstanding leadership, achievement and vision. He has been a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) since 2000, and was given the designation of Commendatore in the Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity by the Italian government in 2008.
