Contributor Biography
Angela Redish is Professor of Economics at the University of British Columbia where she teaches economic history and macro and monetary economics. She has published widely on the history of money and financial systems in Europe and North America. She served as Special Advisor at the Bank of Canada in 2000-2001 and is a member of the C.D. Howe Monetary Policy Council. She has recently published a textbook (joint with Steve Cecchetti) with McGraw-Hill-Ryerson, Money, Banking and Financial Markets, 1st Canadian edition. Her current research examines monetary policies in medieval Europe.
