Contributor Biography

Todd Weiler is an international lawyer whose practice focuses on investment treaty arbitration. Since 1999, he has served as arbitrator, consulting expert and co-counsel in dozens of international disputes between individuals and states. He makes his home in London, Ontario, where he serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Western Ontario Faculty of Law.

In 1999, Todd Weiler founded NAFTAclaims.com and in 2006 he co-founded InvestmentClaims.com, two of the more popular international economic law websites. He is regularly consulted by North American media outlets for his opinions on the NAFTA and on a range of international economic policy issues.

In 2006, Todd Weiler was named by the Global Arbitration Review as one of its "45 Under 45" in international arbitration, and his name appears on the Who's Who Legal and Chambers Global lists of leading arbitration professionals. He is the author and editor of dozens of articles, essays and books on various topics in international trade, investment, and dispute settlement. He holds an LL.M. in international law from the University of Michigan and a LL.M. in international law from the University of Ottawa. He also holds an LL.B. and an M.A. in public policy, from the University of Western Ontario, as well as an Hons. B.A. from the University of Waterloo.
