Jeff Anders,
CEO (co-founder)Jeff has nearly a decade of experience innovating in companies and international organizations. He worked for five years at Mercer Oliver Wyman as a strategy consultant to executives of Fortune 500 companies. Later, as an independent consultant, Jeff was retained by Hewlett Packard in India to help launch a team of local PhDs to perform marketing analytics for Western clients. Subsequently, he worked with a software provider in Beijing to raise capital and plan its international expansion. Jeff completed a Bachelor of Commerce at McGill, a MBA at MIT, and a Masters in Public Administration at Harvard. You can follow him @jeffanders.
Jordan Himelfarb,
Editor in ChiefBefore coming to The Mark, Jordan was the assistant editor of the Quebec Chronicle-Telegraph, Quebec City’s English-language newspaper, and the arts and ideas editor of This Magazine. He worked for three years as a writer and editor at MediaScout, Maisonneuve magazine’s daily news analysis service, and has contributed several features to the magazine. His writing has also appeared in The Globe and Mail, Pure Canada, Plan B and many other publications. He is co-editor of saidthegramophone.com, Canada’s first audio blog.
Emily Burke,
Arts EditorEmily has been a part of the journalism racket since 2007 when she first dabbled in student newspapers. This led her to pursue an M.A. in journalism at the University of Western Ontario which evolved into editorial internships with Maclean's and Hello! Canada magazines. She can't decide what interests her more - the political fabric of this country, the arts scene in her hometown of Toronto, or cheese. You can follow her @emilyburke.
Maria Cortellucci,
Director of Marketing, PRPrior to The Mark, Maria worked as the assistant editor of Where Toronto Magazine. Since then, she's been writing and photographing for a mix of newspapers and blogs across Toronto. On top of her editorial experience, she remains an active contributor to blogTO and involved in Toronto's film industry. Maria attended the University of Western Ontario, where she added an honours degree in History and Comparative Literature and Culture to her name. Alex Derry,
Politics EditorAlex has an MA in European Studies in International Politics from Maastricht University in the Netherlands and a BA in Contemporary Studies and History from the University of King's College, Halifax. As a researcher and writer, Alex has worked with Samara Canada, the Queen's University Centre for the Study of Democracy, and has been published in the Canadian Bar Association's National Section on International Law, the European Journalism Centre Magazine, and Maastricht's Crossroads Magazine.
Michelle Higgins,
Copy EditorMichelle Higgins holds a Bachelor of Arts in French-English Translation from the University of Ottawa and a Master of Arts in Journalism from the University of Western Ontario. Her writing has appeared in the London Free Press, the Irish Independent, the Peace River Record-Gazette, the Grande Prairie Herald-Tribune, and other publications. She has lived in four Canadian provinces and four countries.
Chris Mitchell,
Audio LeadChris has been working with audio since 2008. He specialized in radio while doing his MA in journalism at The University of Western Ontario. He has worked as a producer, host and intern for shows on CHRW, AM980, Rabble, and at CBC's Q. He also has a BA in English Literature and World Religions from McGill University. John Meaney,
Editorial CartoonistBorn in St.John's Newfoundland in 1940. Served twenty years in the Canadian Army as a Paramedic. Worked oilrigs all over the world for 18 years. All the time cartooning whenever I got the chance and freelancing them to magazines and newspapers. I have been interested in politics most of my life and love the opportunity the political cartoon gives me to hopefully bring a smile to peoples faces and at the same time express an opinion.
I retired from a typical 9-5 job four years ago and since then have been able to experiment with new software and hardware associated with art and have settled on a Wacom Tablet and Photoshop. All my work is done digitally.

DeveloperSrdjan loves living and experimenting on the edge of web technologies and incorporating their benefits into his everyday work. A college graduate, he hopes to one day complete his Computer Science degree.

Managing Series EditorTerese has been editing poetry, fiction, and nonfiction for three years. Her writing has appeared in This Magazine, Torontoist, and Open Book, and she has interned for Bookforum, Deitch Projects, and Fashion Magazine. Eric Williams,
Editorial CartoonistEric Williams is a freelance illustrator and student at the Ontario College of Art & Design. Working primarily in pen and ink, he has served as Art Editor for The Strand and has several years of experience self-publishing original comic books. In addition to school commitments and contributing to The Mark, he is in the early stages of creating a new comic book wrestling with the gay identity and life in the Information Age.
Eli Yarhi,
Editorial InternA recent UofT grad with an Honours BA, I studied English lit, religion and history. After interning at Fashion Magazine, where I learned a lot about the print biz, I'm trying to wrap my head around the online news world. I'm the voice of Fashion's Hot Disc blog (http://www.fashionmagazine.com/blogs/category/culture/hot-disc/), and I really like books. I make a wicked pork tenderloin, but my presentation is terrible.
