Jeff Anders, CEO (co-founder)

Jeff has nearly a decade of experience innovating in companies and international organizations. He worked for five years at Mercer Oliver Wyman as a strategy consultant to executives of Fortune 500 companies. Later, as an independent consultant, Jeff was retained by Hewlett Packard in India to help launch a team of local PhDs to perform marketing analytics for Western clients. Subsequently, he worked with a software provider in Beijing to raise capital and plan its international expansion. Jeff completed a Bachelor of Commerce at McGill, a MBA at MIT, and a Masters in Public Administration at Harvard. You can follow him here.

Jordan Himelfarb, Editor in Chief

Before coming to The Mark, Jordan was the assistant editor of the Quebec Chronicle-Telegraph, Quebec City’s English-language newspaper, and the arts and ideas editor of This Magazine. He worked for three years as a writer and editor at MediaScout, Maisonneuve magazine’s daily news analysis service, and has contributed several features to the magazine. His writing has also appeared in The Globe and Mail, Pure Canada, Plan B and many other publications. He is co-editor of saidthegramophone.com, Canada’s first audio blog.

Emily Burke, Editorial Intern

Emily has been a part of the journalism racket since 2007 when she first dabbled in student newspapers. This led her to pursue an M.A. in journalism at the University of Western Ontario which evolved into editorial internships with Maclean's and Hello! Canada magazines. She can't decide what interests her more - the political fabric of this country, the arts scene in her hometown of Toronto, or cheese. You can follow her here.

Maria Cortellucci, Director of Marketing, PR

Prior to The Mark, Maria worked as the assistant editor of Where Toronto Magazine. Since then, she's been writing and photographing for a mix of newspapers and blogs across Toronto. On top of her editorial experience, she remains an active contributor to blogTO and involved in Toronto's film industry. Maria attended the University of Western Ontario, where she added an honours degree in History and Comparative Literature and Culture to her name. Tony Ferguson, Video Producer

Tony graduated from the University of King's College in Halifax with a bachelor's degree in journalism. He also has an honours bachelor of arts degree in political science from Wilfrid Laurier University. He has interned at The Current on CBC Radio.

Charlie Jurczynski, Editorial Researcher

Charlie is currently finishing a bachelor degree in Politics and English at the University of Toronto. He is the founder of The MetaPost. You can follow him here.

Adam Laroche, Editorial Research Intern

Adam is an International Relations student at the University of Toronto, and a reservist with the Canadian Forces.

R.T. Lechow, Developer

R.T. likes writing working, clean, maintainable code. He attributes his knowledge to Google, not his Bachelors in Philosophy at York University. You can follow him here.

Cathy Li, Video Intern

Cathy holds a Honors BA in MIT and Sociology from the University of Western Ontario. She was a video intern at the Business Information Group where she learned video production. She has worked on web based TV shows, trade show presentations, and wedding videography. Cathy loves graphics and puppies.

Allison Martell, Editorial Researcher

Allison was writing for The Varsity by her second month at the University of Toronto. Since then she has published more than a hundred articles in the student press and beyond, including pieces for This Magazine, Xtra, The Tyee, and Eye Weekly. She is an editorial intern at The Walrus, and after work she runs Shameless Wire, a free program for high school girls interested in journalism. Follow her here. (@economicwoman)

Chris Mitchell, Audio Producer

Chris is a graduate of The University of Western Ontario's MA in journalism program. While there, he specialized in radio and won awards for humorous writing and cultural journalism. He also has a BA in English Literature and World Religions from McGill University. Chris has worked as a host, producer, technician and intern for radio shows and podcasts on CBC's Q show, AM980, CHRW and Rabble. He is 5'8'' and 165 pounds. You can follow him here.

Srdjan Pejic, Developer

Srdjan loves living and experimenting on the edge of web technologies and incorporating their benefits into his everyday work. A college graduate, he hopes to one day complete his Computer Science degree.

Alana Samson, Deputy Editor,
Business and Science & Technology

Alana has a Masters degree in history from the University of Oxford, and has always aspired to work in the exciting world of media and cultural commentary. She has returned to Toronto after nearly a decade abroad, having pursued her twin passions for education and travel. Alana comes to The Mark vis-a-vis The Walrus, Lifestyles Magazine and Random House, where she has worked as an editor, in development and special projects.

Doug Sarro, Assistant Editor, Politics

Doug is a Peace and Conflict Studies and International Relations student at the University of Toronto.

Terese Saplys, Deputy Editor,
Toronto and Arts & Life

Terese has been editing poetry, fiction, and nonfiction for three years. Her writing has appeared in This Magazine and Torontoist, and she has interned for Bookforum, Deitch Projects, and Fashion Magazine. She was born to and raised by the children of Lithuanian political refugees in Toronto's Bloor West Village. You can follow her here.

Cameron Tulk, Copy Editor

Cameron is a Toronto-based editor and writer. His writing has appeared in The Walrus and Toronto Life.

Martín Waldman, Audio Intern

Martín has worked as a broadcaster at CIUT 89.5 FM in Toronto for over a year. He has previously worked as a researcher at a Toronto human rights and refugee law firm, and holds an Honours BA in Political Science from the University of Guelph. Martin speaks fluent Spanish, French, Brazilian Portuguese, basic German, and once scored a goal from half in a soccer match.
